About Mary-Ellen

Mary-Ellen Fimbel, a true world citizen with working rights in the United States, European Economic Area, and Australia, is a distinguished and innovative educator with extensive experience teaching in the United States, Australia, and online.  Mary-Ellen's versatility and adaptability allow her to build communities of educational excellence everywhere she goes. 

 

In addition to her classroom teaching roles, Mary-Ellen has made enthusiastic contributions to children's choirs at the campus, district, and community levels.  Her current role as a tutor with the Australian Girls Choir in Canberra highlights her dedication to nurturing young talent and promoting musical education in diverse communities.

As a passionate educator, game designer, and speaker, Mary-Ellen strives to support learners and educators in growing into the best version of themselves through community, connection, and creativity. 

 

To support her learners in reaching their full potential, she is actively blending her love of music education, storytelling, and game design to create a suite of innovative digital games that enhance the elementary school music experience by giving every student the musical and social-emotional skills they need for success in the classroom, performing ensembles, and the world.

When she isn't teaching or developing games, Mary-Ellen loves researching, playing Pokemon Go, and exploring the world with her husband and two young children.
